Game Overview
XS Space is a browser-based free-to-play top-down 2D multiplayer space shooter featuring Newtonian physics, where momentum and inertia play crucial roles in combat. Pilot your ship through zero-friction space, collecting xenite orbs to upgrade your weapons and abilities, while engaging in chaotic battles with other pilots.

Core Mechanics
Energy System
Your ship runs on energy. You start with 1600 energy units that slowly recharge over time. Energy is your health, your fuel for firing weapons, and powers all your abilities. When you reach 0 energy, your ship explodes and you reset back to the login screen with base stats.
Upgrade System
Collect xenite orbs to upgrade your ship. Upgrades improve weapon levels, increase max energy, boost recharge rates, and enhance your ship's speed and maneuverability. Be careful though - dying costs you some of your upgrades, making survival a critical skill.
Physics-Based Combat
Ships move with realistic inertia - once you thrust in a direction, you keep moving until you counter-thrust. This creates a skill-based combat system where positioning, momentum management, and precise timing are essential for success.

Deathmatch for Xenite
XS Space's default game mode is a free-for-all deathmatch combat. Climb the leaderboard by collecting the most Xenite. You can collect Xenite that is spread around the arena, or take it from other players to collect it even faster!
When a player dies, they drop their Xenite, so be sure to pick it up! If you don't collect it, someone else might swoop in and take it from you! Then again, maybe you can swoop in and take it from them!
When you collect the green Xenite, you get upgrades to your ship like increased energy, faster recharge, and more powerful weapons. So make sure to collect as much Xenite as possible but especially look out for the green Xenite!
